I don't know whether the Standard has changed this since it was posted 8 hour ago, but is currently saying that the poor chap hit a stationary Boris Bike distribution van - which would be the dock opposite St Thomas's Hospital. I guess it was parked in the cycle lane, but the road is reasonably wide at that point. It isn't somewhere I would expect to be a collision hotspot or anything.
