Telfords used to be really good but is a bit shit now (due to the staff attitude tbh), still ok for beer, great place on a sunny afternoon.
hah I guess I never find that problem because half of the bar staff are my mates :P

I guess it was down to the attitude over their beer, they didn't really seem to care when it was off. It's comparative anyway, 20 years ago the staff all knew me or were mates too..
Anyhow, I might be up there in a couple of weeks so I'll look out for you...

There is a pub called Brewery Tap on Lower Bridge Street, does excellent real ale and has a really historic, 16th century, interior.
Yeah the Brewery Tap is easily the best pub in Chester these days. Food's pretty good too.
Telford's Warehouse, there's a name I haven't heard in years (well, since the 1990s anyway). For some reason we all used to go to the Cross Keys nearly opposite the Brewery Tap.

Depends whether your priorities are excitement or a good sandwich. The Brewery Tap is more focused on the latter

Heh. Cross Keys...
I had my first pub pint there at 16 after a 'no uniform' day at Queens Park High School...

Check out the Pied Bull on Northgate Street too. They have a brewery in their cellar now.
Another pub I used to run around in 'back in the day'...

Strangely enough that was the first pub I had a pint in. We may also have visited the Kings Head on that particular day and Ye Olde Vaults (now gone) but my memory is a bit, um, patchy

What's Bike Factory like?
I bought a bike there about 9-10 years ago and remember liking it, but I was too young then to know what I was doing and how to judge a good bike shop. They look like they have some good stuff in, but seem a bit pricey from their website.
