Stronglight extractor shagged

Bought some stronglight cranks off flea bay. The description said the non drive side extractor dust cover shagged itself when the guy tried to remove the cranks but that the actual threads of the crank were fine. All good, I thought to myself, I can just use my regular old crank bolts/extractor....

Now, this is the bit I don't understand... He seems to have put the threaded cover back on before posting it to me and of course now it won't come off. I tried to spoke method, but it seems properly stuck. Any tips?

Nevermind took a risk and installed it hoping it would rip again without damaging the threads. Little bit of damage but not too bad...
