I've got a 56cm gen 1 C40 myself, haven't built it up yet but placed it side by side a 56cm Colnago Super and it looks pretty much identical geo. Maybe 0.5cm in the seat tube, which is nothing. I've found I've been able to make just about any frame less than 58cm fit me! For everyday cycling I'll ride a 55.5cm Daccordi TSX.
Sizing is a bit of old cobblers imo. Just about anyone can ride a bike within a 1.5cm range, given saddle and bars adjustment. Oh to be pro and get every bike millimetre perfect!
I was chatting to Rominger after the race in Crans Montana, top bloke, and like nearly every Swiss rider there, all Colnago fetishists. Rominger has SIX carbitubo bikes (count em). He also owns a garage full of Joker C4 which he apparently bought at a bankrupt sale when they went belly up. Daresay they'll wind up on eBay one day...
