• I'm having some wheels put together but dont have the time / space / skill to do it myself. They'll be disc compatible touring wheels for a croix de fer, possibly shimano slx to open pro, or maybe something more exotic. I have a budget of around £300.

Anyone had wheels built at Brixton Cycles before? Going to chat to them tomorrow. Also emailed Harry Rowland, though he's quite far away and from his list of brands may not have as much range of choice as BC.

Any input on my possible hub / rim combination, and a good local wheel builder (south london) gratefully recieved.

The disc wheels I have built that people rate the most are Archetype built on Novatec 711/712 with Alpina DB or DT Comp spokes, depending on your weight... I have built many of these and they generally come bang on at your price point, give or take a few pounds as the Novatec often are supplied by the customer from Taiwan (or at least the good ones do come from BDOP Cycling... in the UK we only get unbadged Novatec with the older draggier hub caps and soft free hubs). Send me a PM if you want to have a chat about those.
