Moving to much smaller house so here's a whole bunch of stuff, nothing that exciting, more safe and sound older steel frames + bits and pieces of a generation ago. Mostly accumulated off ebay and jumbles - selling for same (rarely) or much less (most of it) but if you think any of the prices are way out, let me know politely and I'll respond happily. Lots of it more suited to CTC but prefer to go local first. Frames & Forks (all include headsets and seatpins), do not include the other stuff on them unless explicitly mentioned (lots of stripping down still to do). All been framesavered/waxoyld...all measured ctc ie centre of bottom bracket to centre of where top tube meets seat tube. I'm 6 foot, a bit short in the leg if that's any use. That said, the Kaffenback would be good for someone a an inch or two shorter too.
Please dibs only if you definitely want it, can make the time and will pm straight away – thanks. Pick-up from Chorlton/Withington area but I might be Oxford Rd area this week for more portable bits.
1) 16t, 1/8inch no-name sprocket, unused £2
2) Stronglight, square taper 52t chainset, noticeably not straight but reportedly worked just fine (was the guy's at Popup Bikes) £1
3) Kool-stop pads picked up from a cycle jumble. Note, the bolt isn't very long so didn't work for me on either cantis or mini-V's, someone else might be luckier. Free
4) Quill stem, 1 inch ie 90s/2000's MTBs for 1&1/8 threaded forks Free
5) Adjustable Quill stem, 1 inch ie 90s/2000's MTBs for 1&1/8 threaded forks £5
6) 27” wheels, steel rims, Rear=Maillard hub 122oln, double fixed on Sturmey Archer rim, 36spokes. Front=Pacelite hub on Dunlop Special Lightweight rim, 32spokes, not track, they're both touring-ish width ie 28mm+. £20
7) Raleigh Road Frame, 58 seat tube ctc. 531 tubing – a really nice, well made frame, I've replaced the bearings in the headset and frame has been framesavered/waxoyled, horizontal dropouts, 126mm rear spacing. £40
8) Raleigh Gemini 58cm seat tube ctc, horizontal dropouts, 126mm rear spacing. Basically a Cross-Check's aging Uncle but handbuilt in 531 :) Ideal if you like 90's colour schemes. I don't. £65
9) Road wheels (ie the back wheel on the Kaffenback too), 105 hubs & rims 16spokes Front, 20 spokes Rear. Bit dirty but true and light. £55
10) Planet X Kaffenback 'Large' F&F probably would equate to 56, poss 58cm ctc effective, is 48cm actual. No dings, but quite a few chips to crappy paint job (touched up with not quite the right colour). Great 1 bike-do-it-all, it's been up and over the Pyrenees and a Manc workhorse too. F&F only but there's a few small extras I'd throw in with it @ £65
11) Campag Omega rim, 32hole £8
12) Winster (family affair, normally handmade near Grenoble apparently....though this frame must have been one of their more basic!) road F&F, sorry forks not in pic but I have them, gas pipe tubing 58cm seat tube ctc, headset's all there in bag. Paint is shit and plenty of surface rust. BB bearings could do with grease. But very long horizontal dropouts, longest I've ever seen in fact... and general undesirability would make a great pub bike. £5
13) Coaster brake wheel, lots of fun, had it on no. 7, above for a while, 17t sprocket with v minor use, decent rim, 622x17 so probably 28mm+ tyres. Current tyre not included. £30
14) Hardened steel wall anchor for locking your bike to. Comes with special screws that won't undo. £18
15) Cheap triple crankset £5
16) Raleigh alloy road bars £1
17) Thorn steel bars, 59cm, very slight bend Free
18) Profile Design Airwing Bullhorns, not oversize £14
I'll take those bullhorns please! Pm coming
