  • Husy - just on the subject of arch support - i get horrific ankle pain if I don't wear in soles. I'm as flat footed as can be. I've had the hospital give me in-soles designed to my own feet but they don't last forever. Nearly spent 300 quid getting sturdier supports done, but the cost put me off. These eventually came out and thought I'd try before spending that much, and they've worked great for me the last few years:

    I've had other brands that have worked fine too, but I tried boots own and they caused me pain, so you need to be careful. Anyway, I don't need to wear them cycling and neither do I have your issue, but I like these as they are not full length like the ones pictured above, so i've had no problem fitting them in any type of shoes. Could be worth a pop at 25 quid - especially as you said you have bad knees.
