  • Re one offs: my gazelle has 531 trapezi which is a special weldeable tapered double butted 531. Only drawn for 4 years. Short lives aren't always due to quality, the factories buying them can change their minds, go bust etc.

  • JW repped for finding that retrobike thread.
Im sure the extra grams cant be that bad but its making me think twice about getting the bike now. Ugh first world problems.

In other news got some new kit coming over from Spain, a nice lil Razesa CAI number for the summer and a Fagor long sleeve jacket. They just arrived at heathrow. Hopefully get them by the start of next week.

  • Well if price is low enough may be worth it?

  • sweet jersey/jacket!
    This obsession runs deep!

  • The obsession is killing the bank account though, just bought some track cogs, 14t to18t new in boxes that should be arriving soon.

    Also I need a 26.2mm Zeus/triplex/arius seatpost please anyone?

  • Need to get rid of some stuff then gonna pull the trigger on this one.

  • ^ phwoaar

  • just sold a triplex 26,2!!!

    i'm sorry

  • Ah man, you shoulda holla'd at me! Would have been perfect eh.

  • The end is near..

    I'm so excited I can't sleep.

In other news I got these Silva straps as the christophe ones got beaten up from daily riding on the Russell, will be ordering some Silva soft touch bar tape to match soon. Expensive straps but will be a nice finishing touch and should compliment the frame nicely.

  • Had to post this here -

'Luc from Marktplaats' has this amazing complete roadie Zeus bike on that he has just finished. The attention to details is great and the yellow and black touches especially.

  • That's an awesome build with awesome parts.

Dat fork crown...dat Z in rear derailleur drool

  • ^ Ow hai

  • Frame finally arrived! super excited but need some finishing touches and some wheels to get built. Got some 32h hubs with the frame to lace up to the nos akront tubualr rims I got from the last package from spain. Just need to work out the spoke lenghts.

I need some help finding some classic box section clincher rims and some old school continental tyres with the brown gumwall sides. Im after either 28h or 36h dark grey anodized or some nice black clincher rims, if you know any specific names then please make a list for me to search for. Or even better if you have some for sellz I will buys depending.

Anything similar to the WOLBER GTX 2

Anything apart from campag will be ideal.

  • Conti Grand Prix comes in brown wall now.
    Its called Grand Prix Classic.

  • I have your rims sorted. Pm'd.

I know, but why go modern at the second to last stop. Even if its only for the photo I want everything to be as 'classic' and near enough how it would be in the catalogue. This includes the spokes \/

  • ^you ocd kray

  • I know! Its a bit much but I hope it will be worth it once its finished

  • Progress has been close to none, been on holiday and been getting too drunk on weekends to do much. Anyways, Still on the search of some nos 28h black or grey clincher rims. Theres some Araya ones but I cant see that working with the all spanish parts.

All I can update with is I found some nice Zeus jerseys online and only just round to taking some photos. 1 long sleeve, 1 short sleeve maillot jaune shade of yellow and some Fagor kit.

Missed an original Zeus cap on ebay australia :,,-( and a Zeus pantoed steel stem over here too. Gutted.

    Anyways, some photos..

If anyone happens to have any other jerseys, caps, anything then please pm me or flickr mail for any of you not on here that happens to read this.

  • Have you come across these guys? http://www.standbikeme.com/product-category/vintage/wheels/

They're in Valencia and are selling some pretty sweet vintage Spanish gear. (no 28h rims though..)
