  • I recently bought a steel track frame sold to me as a PEKA which is a rare, dutch hand built brand. I still don't have it with me or had a closer look (its at a mates) but Ive been told that it has no distinct marks or serial numbers. Nothing on the bottom bracket shell or track ends. All it has is a P stamped on the fork crown.

Is it unusual for a frame to have no markings and is that any reflection of the quality?

  • Still trying to get pics up of an old Peugeot identification. Getting the message 'Security ticket missing' or similar. Emailed admin.

    Soon I hope.

  • Hey, does anyone know what manufacturer uses the frame number starting with "CY" ? thanks

  • On which frame are you going to mount the nuovo record ? Why sell the Colnago ? It is a good frame ( maybe better than your other ) You can also restore the Colnago with the nuovo record...

I still have 2 Merckx frames laying around that need a groupset and don't have to be restored...

  • Bought another bike today, again just for the parts. It's marked as "Rider" and it's a pretty funny frame, does anyone has any more information about the brand or has an idea of who made this?

  • if anyone can idendifie those handlebars for me it would be amazing , i've just done 2 hours of research grrrr

They look exactly like my Syntace Racelight bars.

    I rest my case...

  • Could someone identify this frame (besides Losa)and possibly what kind of tubing it is?

Its starshaped/chrimped, but I find it hard to believe its Columbus gilco.

  • any markings on a Puch frame to show they are original?

  • ^ losa, why shouldn't it be columbus gilco? Giovanni Losa was an in-house frame builder for Cinelli, who also produced his own brand frames, so we can say very good quality. The finish on yours is chromovelato, again another pointer to quality

  • this is the only photo I have (from local listing) I saw it in person for a few minutes today - decals seem to say HUWER but are nicely faded and scratched off. didnt get to see the BB shell but the dropouts were stamped gipiemme. anyone know anything about it? Im going to check it out tomorrow or wednesday so i might get more info but it doesnt look like the owner knows much about it from the build

Maybe Columbus SPX also called "Estrella" ( Star )? Was used on OLMO Sintex Anniversary frames too

  • Just to confuse things, Oria had a crimped tubeset for a short period also, but this would have been top of the tree in quality terms.

  • Cromovelato is a very posh finish, you'd really only find it on top end framesets.

Oria also made a crimped tubeset but only for a few years.

Thanks for your answers. After some research on my own I believe it has to be Columbus tubing, since most of the frames made Losa was out Columbus. On the other hand I can never be too certain. But I believe its quite rare frame.

Ok the bike is a Schindelhauer but these bars don't feature on their website. The search continues.
