Yeah. If I ride it at all (and I probably will) I will ride back.
I'm afraid I am a miserable fucker though - the last two years I have waited for no more than 20mins at the beach. Psychologically I like to rattle off a chunk of the return leg ASAP. When the tiredness kicks in it just seems so much easier to have a manageable 70/80 miles left - rather than dragging yourself off the beach with your eyes half closed knowing that you still have more than a century left.
Stating the obvious I know, but I'd also suggest a list should be taken with a pinch of salt - the attrition rate is likely to be very high (90% two years ago?) - although I picked up two unexpected stragglers last year. Basically I think you need to be prepared to ride it alone - and if anyone ultimately tags along it's a bonus!
