bit mystified why this hasn't found a home? clues?
Thought the price was attractive, very light frame set, full original group and superb wheels, beautiful ride, you'll see the geometry is slightly more relaxed so will make a great long haul machine...hmmm -

Many bikes (nice ones too) aren't selling...I think there's a bit of decline in 'vintage' bikes as more people prefer new ones (thanks also to, possibly, the Ride2Work scheme here in London?)
after all Velocio also saw a drop in money coming in from affiliate links (i.e. less people buying via the forum) as opposed to past years.
On the opposite, high street shops are getting quite some return in money from selling bikes/accessories and services.
My 2c.

Very good points; certain 'name marques' seem to be getting even more expensive, Colnagos, Masi, De Rosa etc. and any decent Italian Pista.
It's a pity in a way that very many riders never get to experience a boutique hand made bike; I'm lucky enough to have a very nice carbon modern bike, it's light, sure, but I know which i'd prefer for a long ride. The old Campag group sets seem to go on forever compared to some popular new-builds out there!

As for everything, every needs has a bike to fulfil it.
For me new light bikes are good only if you want to race. Not for commuting, not for longer rides, no matter what anyway can tell me.
Newest steel bikes are great, but expensive (I think even more than what used to be when 531 was the top of the line)Today, whenever a colleague/friend/relative asks me advice on a new bike, I'll point them to vintage steel bikes (if they want to compete, no one will come ask me advice anyway :)).
Advantages being that with the same price point of a new hybrid bike, you can get a great steel bike that will last forever, be more comfortable, cheaper to fix and they can fix themselves. And then I show my three steel bikes. What happens though, is that many of them are lazy. And they simply keep going to a local shop get a new bike and hope for a trouble-free ride.
So far I managed to convince only my girlfriend and my dearest friend :)

Interesting, a good mate has an Alu framed Trek and wanted to get a high end carbon bike, so he tested a Domane around £2-3k; he came back with numb hands and feet.
I lent him my Colnago, a fairly humble decor with an 8v group set, he said it was the smoothest and most comfortable ride he'd ever had (and well under a grand!) .But he's still looking for that carbon bike. Those marketing guys sure do a great job...

Yes-you're right .. I've noticed a significant drop in vintage steel bikes...
that i talian stuff is nice but a handbuilt proper Dutch/English frame is just as good if not better.. -

Dutch builder using 531C in Milan would cover all the bases!
I'm unreasonably fond of of those 80s/90s Italian paint schemes :) -

Hi J
will do;
btw, this would part out for 400-500 quite easily, I wanted (if possible) to preserve it as a full build as it is such a rare and original beast, and a wonderful ride. -

I think they like the more conventional bikes there to be honest, this has the air of an Italian bar queen :) may give it a try!! If Retrospective were selling it, it would be 600 + and more from other outlets I'm sure...
slimjim is out so still here :)
