Electrical tape around the saddle rails, make them a tiny bit more chunky and gripable. Has worked in the past for a quick fix but still needed a replacement asap.

Electrical tape might work temporarily, but it will eventually slip.
Put some small strips of leather around the rails where the clamp makes contact with them.

Okay, problem with the thread. Take the bolt out, get some PTFE tape (plumbers tape) and wrap it round the thread, then wind the bolt back in.

The clamps on my seatpost are bent from over-tightening the bolt. This means that they meet around the bolt before they grip the saddle rails well, you may want to check for this.
single bolt seatpost on my beater keeps slipping. it seems no matter how tight i get the thing a few hundred meters later the seat is loose. before i pitch it is there any tricks for this besides locktitiong the shit out of it?
