I'm in Gravesend and the woods are a decent ride out into the countryside. We started from scratch in November and have ended up with a pretty cool assortment of jumps that can quite easily evolve into larger jumps and longer lines when we get a bit more confident. There hasn't really been a dirt scene around here for a long time so the majority of us are novices when it comes to this, though most of that seems like a mental barrier as it's not really any different to a jump box at a skatepark or a street gap out of a transition.
