Cheers Theo I'd definitely say get one if one's going at the right price, paid £25 for mine with the flash, body, 24mm (50mm) and the 50mm (100mm) with a couple of filters.

Fun stuff, Indra!
Good to see you doing much stuff lately.
Never used 110 film.
Like the colours in the lomo one.
Would consider just keeping (even) frames around the pictures no matter what's on them. -

Just bought an Olympus 35SP online, took a bit of a risk as it was cheap and there was no description but it arrived in amazing condition. Just put a roll of film through to test it...
Also added a film section to my site as I'm doing more these days... http://28fixed.com/film/
Some shots from the 35SP - free Klick 200 film, expired 1998, dev & scan at asda so total cost was £3. Didn't wanna spend much as I didn't know if the camera/film even worked.

If you like 35mm it's so fucking unbelievable what kind of sweet cameras you can get today for almost no money.
Nice you found one in neat condition; have fun!

Pretty pleased with this pair from the weekend...
Still not 100% sure about Ektar though, I've done a bit of whitebalance correction and the skintones are really nice in the first one, but the cat is still a bit purple

All of the shadows are a bit purple, and it looks great.

Ideally you wouldn't clip your curves like that. You should always have as smooth roll off as possible. Fine for most screen work but you gotta be careful for press.
Do prefer the more neutral version though.

Care to explain further? Sounds interesting...
I did a lot of retouching and prep work for print but most self taught so prob missing a few "pro" tips/theories... but then again everything printed fine so... -

Isn't it easier to bump the green in colour balance?
Is that a bad method?

I did a lot of retouching and prep work for print but most self taught so prob missing a few "pro" tips/theories... but then again everything printed fine so...Well, this is coming from the dude that taught me, and it was in PS v2 or something. So AAAAGES ago. And possibly more pertinent to greyscale printing for newspaper and similar (showing my age). For perspective, this was to prepare images for a varitype 2000 bromide machine...
Basically, an ideal curve would roll off to max/min rather than an abrupt sharp end. In theory this reduces banding and creates smooth grads. I'll do some quick screen grabs to explain.
But yeah, modern digital reproduction is extremely forgiving.

Got ya... interesting and sounds very wise... the curves in that screen grab were from the orig... makes sense though. I always worked to losing 10% detail in the lows in print... used to get so many tiffs/jpgs from amateurs who'd cranked the levels to the point of no return not realising that screens were backlit so always looked brighter... yeah... duh...

Has anyone used an EOS-1n? Bought one from eBay last week and had to send it back due to a 'BC' error. Didn't want to spend money fixing it.
-
• #8048
for comparison. I'm not saying one way is right or wrong but it's just how I was taught.
When you pull the curve hard to the edge you essentially tell PS to take the colour that was at say, 3% and force it to 15% without a smooth transition.
Anyway, getting in the way of good pictures - there was nothing really wrong with the original!

Lovely shots! I prematurely bought a 120 roll of ektar because I love the 35mm stuff so much.

Just flicking through old rolls on Flickr, I do love the colour from fuji Superia
Got some 110 film back from the gangsta ride through the auto 110, can't remember taking half the shots.
Any ideas why they have this odd border/crop thing going on? It's visible on the neg too.
Apart from that I'm super happy with the camera, lens and new lomography film.

I guess if it's nothing to do with scanning I'll just compensate in framing, pity because a 110 neg is already fucking tiny so it sucks to cut 10% off of each frame.
