Ogilvy has now officially apologised for the ad, saying it is "contrary to the beliefs and professional standards of Ogilvy & Mather and our clients."

if only standards were something you could appeal to before you made a deeply offensive advert, that way you could avoid making the ad in the first place!

Winston Mckenzie is a loony. For a forum wind-up, a mate of mine once started a rumour that McKensie was heading up a consortium with Levi Roots to buy Crystal Palace. The local press asked Winston if it was true and he confirmed it and spent a week in the national press merrily talking to everyone who'd listen about my mate's stupid online wind-up. It got well out of hand. My buddy nearly had to go into hiding when he came clean. Fucking nut bag.
