  • Oh ho, extra nice one then!

  • what brand track cogs do people tend to go for? i need a 1/8 i believe ideally cnc'd with tapered teeth, suggestions please.

  • why cnc'd?

  • Anybody know any cool 26.2 seatposts?

    Kalloy SP-248 :-)

This ebay seller has 26.2mm, and not only is the seat post tester approved, the seller is too.

  • what brand track cogs do people tend to go for?

People tend to go for a succession of cheaper ones until they see the error of their ways, then they buy Phil

  • why cnc'd?

My chainring is cnc'd so its an aesthetic thing really.

is there anything that comes close to the phil wood stuff but not as expensive?

  • Shimano DuraAce are round and cheap, but not pretty. I don't think they are made on CNC equipment, as I'm sure Shimano set up conventional jigs for making Dura Ace sprockets before CNC became popular, and of course a conventional machine does the job just as well, for less, if you're making stuff on the Shimano scale.

  • do shimano do anything bigger than 16t? my first thought was to go for the duraace's but i cannot find anything bigger than 16t.

  • Nope 16 is the biggest they make. I find surly cogs to be nice enough.

  • cheers guys thanks for the feedback, you see the thing is i don't really want to spunk too much on my first cog just in case i need to change it so i want something cheap but not too cheap.

  • You'll be fine with surly.

  • Indra, riding different shapes of fixed frames does not equate to all the different kinds of bikes.

    maybe but riding this

is hardly the same as riding this

  • Perhaps I should've rephrased to different types of track bike.

  • Whoppers the lot of you

What is meant by whopper in this context, I keep seeing it?

It's not on urban dictionary so I'm not sure it's actually a thing.

  • maybe but riding this

is hardly the same as riding this

    have you ridden both?

from my opinion and due to the bikes i've had over the last years i would disagree.

buy yourself a roadbike/geared bike indra! so much more fun, but you will be hated by andypancake.

  • I've ridden both, both fun in different ways.

I am getting a road bike, maybe when I do I'll want to sell a fixed bike but not for now.

  • Or skip the whole hipster/roadie/scoblestackedtourer/offroadtrailcentrewarrior/midlifecrisisBMX bit and go straight for a titanium, S&S coupler, belt-driven, Rohloff, custom 36er :-)

    Cheers amey ;-)

  • Can I have some constructive criticism for my sweet fixeh please?

Get some flat crown forks, al-la mr scoble, looks worlds better:

  • I'm confused..
    Is he running a 1inch fork in a 1 1/8 frame?

  • ^^ I'm confused too...

Did you really just use the words

    ''Scoble''
    and
    ''looks better''
    in the same sentence?
