I would like to purchase a decent pillar drill, if anyone has one to get rid of.
I'd be happy to [euph]drill Hugo's forks for him afterward[/euph]

Okay so unfortunately Cheesecake is a little too far from me.
Anyone else in London, ideally North or East?
Also are you better off using masking tape or selotape before you drill? And are there any other tips if I'm just freehanding it?
Cheers

Are you drilling forks for weight saving? Not a bit sketched out that you'll be prone to drillium collapse?

If your doing it free hand, definatly punch a locating hole prior to drilling and de-burr with a larger drill bit by hand after.

Yep, weight saving. And not just the fork. I plan to drill then knife and the spoon too. The handles are pretty robust stainless steel. I think failure is unlikely.

you could probably remove 50% of a fork and it would still be fine

Good plan.
I could then sell the fork handles?

Incidentally if anyone wants camping cutlery the £shop near Finsbury Park St. had loads as well as other cheap camping stuff the other week.
Hey,
I have some stainless steel camping forks that are pretty heavy and wanted to drill some holes in them.
I could probably manage free hand with a drill, but just thought a pillar drill would be much faster and cleaner.
Does anyone have one and would they be willing to do the drilling?
Cheers.
