• D.A.M.P. Butterbean frame originally built for bicycle polo from 4130 chromoly, though with geometry based on the On-One Pompino and has later had cable routing and a derailleur tab added at Oak Cycles. Clearance for big tyres, 47mm should be fine.

    Top tube c-c: 58cm (effective around 60cm I'd guess).
    Seat tube c-c: 52cm.
    Seat tube c-t: 59cm.
    Head tube: 18cm.

Since acquiring the frame it has been resprayed at Armourtex in chestnut brown at a cost of £60, then had the bottom bracket faced for £15. The frame has not been ridden since the respray.

    The bad:

    • a few small dents on the seat tube from polo mallets, nothing structural.
    • I was having issues getting a mountain bike hollowtech bottom bracket to tighten up to torque. I think this is due to a combination of shallow threading, the fact the threads don't start at the edge of the shell and the 5mm spacers required on the drive side of a hollowtech mountain bike bottom bracket mean there are not many threads to catch. Without the spacer it tightens up fine, I've also had a square taper bottom bracket tighten up fine. I don't think you'll have any problems with a road hollowtech or square taper bottom bracket (the previous owner didn't anyway). Getting the threads chased would probably be a good idea too. As you can see in the photo there is no cross-threading or stripping of the threading in the bottom bracket cup.

I measured the seatpost required as 29.4mm with vernier calipers, and have since bought a shim for a 27.2mm seatpost for this size however I believe it could do with a size up.

Note that the brake studs on the seat stays are reversed. This means that cantilever brakes cannot be used.

Includes a 31.8mm seatclamp and Hope headset (though no starnut or top cap).

More photos available here and a photo in it's prior guise here.
