  • Dogma knock off

I reckon the bars need to be rotated a bit to get a nice flat and level transition to the hoods

  • Grammo on the Balk
I've never been convinced by the chrome forks; and with the Grammo on I'm definitely leaning towards "no".

    Still a fat-tube-forum-fave though!

  • Dogma knock off finished today...
    Needs blue tyrez.

  • blue cables and spacer stack can gtfo.

Need to decide on bar hight. That's why so many spacers.

  • this record or gruppo is on it's way to me

i think i will go silver on silver and black on black and use record or on this (when it eventually gets done)

the wheelset has ceramic dark rims, which I'll use with the next machine and mainly black olympus mtb gruppo

  • I think your build will be a whole lot nicer than mine, which is a mixture of 105 and ultegra I found as cheap as possible.
The idiot who owned mine last chopped of the front mech braze on and resprayed the seat tube. Re saddle, I think the concor will work if the other parts suit. Doesn't bother me on that frame. I got a good deal on that fizik and find it comfortable.

These frames are lovely to ride. Springy, climbs and accelerates well, nice tight back end. I've never ridden a modern road bike so to me this feels light. It was the top end, and lightest, Columbus tube set in 1996. If you get your build right it will easily be pornworthy.

That's a real shame about the braze on. Maybe it was damaged so they just got rid of it? The paint on this is amazing, so I hope they at least did a good job with the respray?

Sounds great, thanks, wasn't sure what to expect from it.
It certainly feels light and between the oversize tubing and the large chain stays I was thinking it should be relatively stiff for an older steel. It's replacing a very smooth, but a bit flexy early 80's Bob Griffin 531sl, and a very light and stiff but profoundly uncomfortable aluminium Trek, so I'm hoping for a sweet spot between the two.
Either way, I've ridden nothing but a Croix de Fer for months now, so this'll probably feel like a rocket.

  • The dogma. Hard shells on anything but the rear wheel of a brklz fixie skidder>>>>>>>>>

  • Apologies for the crappy iPhone photo

    I can haz plz? :(

  • Dogma knock off finished today...internal cable routing was a pain..just got to sort out stem hight on a few test rides..

Slam the stem, rotate the levers up slightly so the main part of the hoods are level or slightly pointed up, get some nicer/more modern pedals and chuck some better tyres on, gp4000's or something. Then it will look good, probably ride better too.

  • Slam the stem

    #forza

  • Half assembled project sensible two brake road/path fixed/ss commuter and runabout... eventually will see a rack and full guards. Currently pretty much a parts bin/cheap cheap build. Cranks will be a pair of messengers I got for £20, will probably buy 32c paselas for it as the rando cross weigh a ton and I like the ride of paselas. Much time was spent pissing around with respacing rear wheel, the frame probably deserves better than what i have planned, will be a very useful bike though.

  • #forza

eh? 1. Are you trying to compare my track bike built for aero bars with a road bike? 2. I have slammed it now? I sent you a picture and everything.

    tl;dr: weak troll

^^^ I agree.... I have some Keo's on the way that I will fit. They were the only road pedals I had.
I have to fine tune the front end. Will have a play with stem and levers when I have has a chance to put some miles on it next week.

What tyres would work well with this do you think??

Guys at cavendish cycles were surprised how well made the frame was. Not bad for a Chinese copy.

  • Nice runabout TM

  • Dont forget black cable housing.

  • Now there's a new version out, GP4000S are going for £25.

  • What tyres would work well with this do you think?

Are there any counterfeit Veloflexes on Alibaba?

  • Are there any counterfeit Veloflexes on Alibaba?

Not yet, but IMHO a Chinarello should wear the "Michelin Road Bike Bicycle Tire Trye PRO 3 Light service course... Marginally lighter than the standard Pro 3" from Alibaba ;-)

  • Picked this up from JB, put on some pedals and another stem and went out for a ride. Really fun, both off and on road while also being comfortable. Have taken the rear rack off because I don't really have any use for it ATM.

Plans are to buy some new lizard skin tape and possibly some salsa cowbells.

  • why are the tubes labelled?

  • Because JB is a fucking idiot and I have to labelled the bicycle so he'll know what's what.

  • ^^^ Good call; #fixieflounce soon? Its the way forward.

    #yearofscoble

  • Ran out of white spirit before I could get all the pen off.
No fixieflounce yet, just a bit of variety

  • Front rack need to move back a bit so the mounting arm is nearly horizontal.
