  • Blue fort frame, black wheels, white hubs, carbon fork front brake and bullhorns

Outside my house just now, I recognise it, then what else gave it away was the fact they couldn't even use the pump they had.
Spoke to them as I left the house and they were very vague with answering questions, I just asked where they got it as I wanted one etc.
Said he picked it up for £100 when it's worth easily double.

  • Bike has been collected by police and on its way to it's rightful owner as I type this.

Turns out it was stolen 3 years ago outside New Street station.
I'm surprised it stayed in one piece for so long after being pinched!
Thats my good deed done this year!

  • Well in!

  • Well done

  • Good work Barry!

  • Cool, would love to hear the details of the story too.

  • DFP smells a rat

  • I'm surprised they even did anything after this long!

  • No rats, just keen to hear how it all unfolded, especially the police involvement.

  • This give me a little hope.

  • Basically sunday I peeped out my window and saw the guys next door with the bike.
Noticed it was a fort and to my knowledge there is only two in the city, this one and a white one.
Messaged the guy on Facebook, who I know who owns the white one and asked if one had been stolen recently.
Monday I get a message and a picture off a guy saying it was his, picture matched the bike and he was explaining about when it was stolen and that he'd contact the police.Wednesday police turn up at my door asking about the bike, looked over the fence couldn't see it, I explained that there weren't many around and there probably isn't another built up like this in city. They went next door, took a picture of the bike, sent it to the kid to I.D the bike and it was his, then I saw them leave with it.
    Good enough DFP?

  • Alreet, so he was just next door?

I was wondering how they found this person with the pinched bike.

  • Yeah, I don't know who stole it next door, but after 3 years, it's got to have changed hands a few times right?
there was a group of people outside, mixture of ages.
They didn't even know how to pump the tyres up haha.
