  • damn... thought those photos were better than that... ah well!

  • Too late but I'd blast the seat/chain stays with a fade ala Morgan.

    But this is nice.

  • Can't believe you would leave this locked up outside.. In Hackney! Very lucky. Need to get that steerer chopped.

  • You should at least get pitlocks for the stem, if not atom22s.

  • Fade ala Morgan?

Those security jobs look like a wise move...

^hackney? - Islington darling! It was daylight when I got to the pub, everyone was called Tarquin or Rupert and all wearing loafers... Rough crowd.

That'll learn me... thankfully a cheap lesson...

  • Was it Hugo and Siobhan outside fiddling with their dad's allen keys?

  • anyone know a shop in London that will true Reynolds Assault wheels?

(they don't have spoke nipples on show - I assume they'd have to take the rim tape off to get to the spokes to adjust, do they need a special tool for the job?)

    Cheers,

    Matt

  • Hu hum.... Attack..
And Yes, they do take a special key from the inside. Cycle lab on Pitfield street will do it.

Islington you say? Farquhar was probably just trying to sort your spacers out before he got rumbled. Leave it outside long enough and someone might true your wheels for you.

  • Sigma, Hampton Wick

  • that's a lovely build.
you still looking for a 1 and 1/8th king black sotto voce?
i have a lightly used one if you're interested?
    cheers

Islington is riddled with thieves, including our own On One Langster.

  • OK, so as this is now my main/daily bike for the foreseeable future I've been thinking I need some more practical/robust wheels...

I've take a liking to the grey anodised H+Son Archetype and am after some hub advise... anyone got any recommendations? going to be used daily for commuting over the winter and a few faster longer weekend rides...

    Cheers,

    Matt

  • Hope Mono RS

  • Or novatec A291SB-SL and F482SB-11

The anodising on archetypes will wear off with 1 wet ride if you are ok with that. Kinlin are a good budget WW option and The Cycle Clinic is doing the wheelset with those hubs for £290 here: http://thecycleclinic.eu/collections/road-rim-brake-wheelsets/products/kinlin-xc-279-wheelset

hmm... good shout, Cheers - I shall investigate...

  • ^^ah, thought I'd read somewhere that that is true of the black version but the grey were a little more resilient?

Got my eye on some tune hubs to DT Swiss RR415s on eBay... I know people rate those hubs but reviews of the rims say they are crap...

  • just putting this here to remind myself... could be a cheap and easy solution...

    Shimano RS10 Road Racing Wheelset...

  • Hope or Chris King no other option!

Miss my hope / open pros :-(

  • there's a rear R45 on here - but 24h... perfect for winter commuting duties!!

    how's the Merckx going?

  • If he's going to be using them throughout the winter I'm guessing he'll want to serve e them. Don't Chris Kings have proprietary tools for servicing? So that will have to be factored into the cost.

I'd have said something cheap like those shimano wheels or Novatec to some not too expensive and easy to source rims.

Hell no, it does need looking after.

If you're looking for a hubs for winter commuting, get Tiagra/105 or Hope.

Yeah, there was some sarcasm in there... I guess it'll be 32h hope or novatech in the end... The kings are a little indulgent, but if the price is right...

    Cheers though - I'll have a look for 105s

    Matt

  • Had to switch tyres as the black freebies died...

hmm... meh - they'll do for now...

soo annoyed I missed some black eeBrakes on eBay...

    one day...

  • Saw this in the flesh today! Lovely bike and a really nice guy too. Good to meet you.

Totes late but I meant like Morgans suggestion: not a full blast. Get the rear triangle blasted but have it faded into the red before the seattube/BB junctures.

    Sexy bike tho.
