If there was some way to carry over the comments from rep that would be good, every so often its nice to look back at old threads through the comments you made which caused people to give you the metaphorical thumbs up or down on...
I don't think it should be thrown away, those comments, not really the rep/neg rep that came with them are as much a part of your history on the forum as any other post you've made which is out in the public domain...
