What size frame is that do you think?
-
• #3
I reckon 40-42cm?
-

42cm, they are a bit thin on the ground, try searching gumtree and ebay for childs racer.
They are generally around that size. -

I bought a Roberts 531 for my nephew last year, they are hard to find these child size racers but theyre defo out there!

I'd look at childs bikes. But they come with pretty basic spec. A 650C wheel size one is easily upgraded. So stick to that.

Bianchi do one similar, as do Giant. My google skills seem off today though.

I looked at them. But did'nt know if the wheel size would be a good option. I'd try and stick to 650C.

don't know what your budget is but I've got this. Ridden by 5ft 1 lady friend of mine, I'd built it up earlier this year but it now needs to be moved on.
Completely ready to go, lots new parts fitted that have had less than 250 easy liesure miles on them, everything is in perfect working unworn condition.
Fantastic Mavic Cosmos wheels spin forever.

Thanks all for the suggestions - not keen on the bikes so far. I do like the high spec suggestions but quite expensive... I'm keen on spending £300 or so max.

Islabikes make bikes for small people.
Also put a request up on ctc if you're after a bargain. Almost everything sold there is a bargain IME.

Edwardes in Camberwell have got a small red racer with 650c wheels on their wall at the moment - saw it the other day but didn't take note of spec or price. Probably over budget, but might be worth giving them a call.
Decathlon are knocking out remaining stock of the red Triban 3 for £250 - smallest sizes have 650c wheels and would probably work. Several friends have one - great value for a new bike at that price and a good ride, though obviously s/h will give you a better spec.
Two small tourers in YACF classifieds recently for about £200, one Orbit and one Roberts, both good spec and bargains at that price. Orbit is flat bar, can't remember about Roberts. (If interested, you need to register to see ads.)

Great suggestion re decathlon, the Triban 3 would be perfect!! Just asked the other half and she said she wants it in White. ugh... search continues. They have the upgraded model on the decathlon site as well, in white, however, does not come in the smaller sizes.
Good shout on YACF, I'll register and look at the classifieds. thanks

Bump - wondering if anyone has anything that is light and has the 'steel look'. She's keen on this bike http://tokyobike.co.uk/bikes.htm?bike=bisou-red just not keen on the price!
Will be for a girl, however she's not keen on anything girly looking. So no pink paint jobs etc.. want a road bike with gears. Newer is preferred.
Thanks
