If perception is the issue then taking them up on the misappropriation of information is wholly appropriate. Information > bullshit. It's a win because the facts beat the presumptive arsing about.

No. The post showed us that bullshit, panicky rhetoric does not a manifesto make and that even Ukip's single presentable policy is built on hot air and is immediately flawed when confronted with actual facts and the complexities of a global society.

On this one I'm with Jeez. UKIP are a symptom not the problem and whilst it might be satisfying to highlight their stupidity, I'm not sure it actually achieves anything with the audience to which their messages are targeted - UKIP they have no interest in what reasonable, intelligent people might think - they know those people won't vote for them. I'm quite sure that UKIP at the higher levels are quite well aware of the truth about their position, but they continue because it works for them.

Apparently the incorrect facts are nonetheless legitimate concerns which are based on perceptions which are facts which need to be addressed by the main stream parties.

I think it's a call for some sort of "feelings-based" policy initiative.

Bigoted people will pay attention to anything that reinforces their world view. Facts which disprove their world view are, on the whole, ignored.
