Just checking in now, had a great weekend camping/riding with Oli, Fox, Ludd, T4 and Hats. Great to meet and share some of the route with Jason (JDM?) and Pifko who were putting in a strong effort.
Fox, I'd recommend Mountain Equipment's Xero range, Oli has the 350 rated down to zero (comfort) and the one I had is the 550 rated to -10. They're a bit pricey though a cheaper, quality investment might be the Alp Kit Pipe Dream
