OK, on my way shortly, I has SPF50 and an hat.
And a backpack that weighs as much as me, for I like to have a tent in which I can walk around.
I'm going to have fun on the climb out of Ryde, innit.

What a lovely weekend.
Enjoyed the camping but need to work on my thermal insulation as I was a touch nippy.
So much carvery!
And the hills were much less horrific this time with gears instead of fixed.
Thanks Hats, benjam, ludd, corlis, Fox and fasih.
Yay iow! -

Great weekend. Sorry not to have said goodbyes at portsmouth - I ran for my train, got on it just in time, ended up chatting with Jim who had lent us his spare gas canister.
Will upload action shots after tea in Beckenham.
Love all round.

shame to have missed yaBut of course!
There was a bit of a kerfuffle with the ferries. We were supposed to get the one to Fishbourne but they had overbooked so we got the Ryde cat instead. Rather than back-track to Wooton down the main road I thought it would be nicer to got out along the seafront and join the route half way to Bembridge. With the faster ferry and the head-start I think that put us quite a way ahead of the game.

I rode for a while loosely with a couple of your mob along the stretch between Blackgang and Freshwater. That Rabobank-esque kit was much in evidence throughout the day.

Sorry not to have seen you, MoN!
I have had an ace weekend, thanks to my fellow xcampersx and to Jason and Pifko for being great company.
The only negative was the sketchy riding from the nodders and choppers - the nodders I'm more ok with as they don't know better and it's nice to see new-ish cyclists out enjoying themselves, but the choppers, esp those from the cycling-club-that-shall-not-be-named should be ashamed of themselves. Oh yeah and that douchebag at Ryde port who hated on our bikes. WAC.
But anyway, glorious sunshine, 3 trips to the carvery in 3 days, winning the pub quiz AND a shiny new badge, what more could you ask for from a weekend?

Awesome weekend with excellent company. Probably the hardest ride I have done, sure I have done longer, but they are not as up and down. Sorting out the photos now, will upload soon.
Thanks bejam, corlis, fox, hats, ludd and T4!
