  • Built this up tonight to replace my track bike as the beater .

Track frame will be going off to get painted up all nice soon

  • Please say you're keeping the pink-purple fade?

  • The fades might stay I aren't to sure. Pink is defiantely staying . In essence the paint on it is so bad it's now rusting a lot and I have been offered a good deal for letting a painter go nuts and do what he wants. I am hoping that might mean pink purple fadez with glitter thrown in as well.
Does mean I need to get some nice parts for it though

  • That sounds like an excellent trade off - knowing artists you'll probably get something spectacular!

  • Mizuno forks arrived, now just the decision between the new (straight blade) and the old (more traditional rake). Thoughts?

Also would have to decide whether to run the new forks quill or ahead. Decisions, decisions.

  • Mizuno.

  • mizuno for sure.

  • Matt and I agree

  • mizunooooo

  • It seems the people have spoken.

  • Not really new, but I rebuilt the LOOK. Better with Apex and good wheels/kit than it ever was with Red and bad wheels/3T kit.

  • I'll just leave these here...

  • :)

  • Was going to tell you earlier Jules, but sounded like you were having a torrid time with your new PC!

  • Niiiice

  • Worryingly that was actually one of the better new builds I've had.....
Glad I vetoed the idea of a swear box.

  • Looks like you installed brakeless technology. Good man

There's something oddly satisfying about swearing at inanimate objects though, or maybe I've just become used to it as I do it so often!

Alas, just installed by default, and will soon be uninstalled by a man/possibly Mike Burrows and his drill.

  • Dont ruin a good frame

  • Don't drill!

I can supply you with a Kimori front brake adaptor for a resonable price, PM me if interested.

  • Just looking at the clearances in that frame I think brakeless would be the way to go.
Not a lot of flex from the forks and it's going to go quite wrong if the tyre hits the down tube.

  • Brakeless is the way to go on track. If you're on the road you need one, for reasons of legality and simple common sense.

Precisely. Although it's a track frame, it's never going to see the boards, will just be my do everything bike. Plus the fork crown is squared off, and has a pilot hole in the back, they just didn't get fully drilled when they were made.

You're in the right job then!
