  • Indeed - it really needs a Saffa style Truth and Reconciliation committee - can't see that happening mind.

    It has been proposed, but currently it's not popular enough. Popular being a wry word for such a terrible situation. Some people understandably so demand answers/conviction. If your mother/friends/family have been killed...it's difficult to move on.

    There's also an incredibly tangled mess due to living politicians involved in past crimes still being in government. So there's severe doubts the truth will be told.

    It would require the British State to fully come clean, even if nobody goes to prison due to guarantees/people testify anonymously the game of "connect the dots" can still end some careers.

    And no matter what a lot of bad feelings will resurface before things get better. Not sure the Tories have the balls/give a shit enough about NI to do this. Or the local fuckwits for that matter. It takes a lot of will.

    I can't possibly know what I would do as I haven't lived through The Troubles. But this is a half-assed solution for sure.
