  • I left fairly early. I was getting too tempted to booze myself in to oblivion on a work night.

  • I had come from the Warrington chaingang and pretty much instantly got stuck on the rollapalooza. It did not make me feel good. I did have some world champ cake after though, that did make me feel good.

  • There was still cake left!!! I think it got to the point where everyone was far too polite to take the last piece so kept doing that 'I'll just take a bit' thing.

    I now hurt even more after the rollers & am unbelievably shocked that I beat a woman that actually races (even though I sat up & pretty much gave up at the end). Good to see you all & catch you all soon.

  • Never thought this thread would work (@Roe) But yeah, is that your daily commute then?

    Nah, just ride there for fun, from eccles to cadishead, few miles daily keeps me fit ;] just about to go for a ride :)

  • Not the worst of routes! Should take it on down to Lymm after Cadishead, there's some good loops you can do between Eccles and Lymm, if you don't like going directly back on yourself. Say hi if you see me again man, I'll race ya!

    I'm usually on this;

  • I think I might saw you as well, with some other chap, can't remember when unfortunately. I'll try Lymm route today, hope not to get lost :) Thanks for the tip.

  • DAS'd betty, then realised she was riding gears. and I dont think she heard.

  • WHAT! my first spot & I didn't even hear?! betty, I is disappoint...

  • You looked knackered, it was on upper brook st, passing hathersage rd

  • I think I must always look tired (or gormless) when cycling, I was possibly wondering why I had chosen to go down that road & that I should pace myself as I was heading to a race (which I totally failed at!).

  • it is a most unpleasant road, bummer on the race!

  • My own fault for not being bolshy enough, I'm evidently too kind & let people get in front of me/bully me over to the kerb. Still a decent average speed for the one lap I managed...better luck next time!

    And yes, next time I'll avoid that road!

  • If our race is anything to go by Betty, lap 1 is generally the fastest and toughest to stay on for. Cling in there and you'll be getting round in no time.

  • Thanks kompute, think half the trouble is no one wants to draft the short skinny girl & I'm not forceful enough not to let people push me about. Still, my first ever road race & good practice for Saturday's crit race.

  • raw melic ? palatine rd northenden outside the jehovahs witness assembly hall

  • Guy with Look frame / mavic wheels popping into The Bar chorlton briefly yesterday. I'd have locked it up even for that short time!
