  • Well it just reminded me of this project. Would look cool! But I don't know if the guy ships it.

  • highest bid is about 10 pounds so not expensive.

  • But I don't know if the guy ships it.

According to the description / classifieds details, he will ship.
More of a problem may be payment.
In general, Dutch people want a bank transfer, no Paypal.

Seller is reliable. I've done business (incl shipping) with him before.

Target price is EUR 50 though.
I know he doesn't let things go for extremely small amounts (also tried that).

  • I have a Gazelle Lo Pro owned from new from around 93/94. my one is different from above with mono seat stay and recessed seat tube micro cast lugs. I also hve shamal front wheel and spoked rear wheel. Close ratio front chain rings 54 and 44. Campag record 8 speed.

  • I'd definitely go an all-black tyre. Looks much 'meaner', IMO. And looks alot cleaner than a white, or yellow.
That is a beautiful, beautiful bike.

  • The yellow sidewalls might look good (but I still think all black, as you say, would be perfect). Wait - are they yellow stripes on top, or on sides?

  • I'd definitely go an all-black tyre. Looks much 'meaner', IMO. And looks alot cleaner than a white, or yellow.

    Agree

  • Use them in the meantime, until you get blacks. Anything you put on there will look pretty damn good, given the frame.

Very jealous. I have a Gazelle Jubile that I was going to put black tyres on, but it is just slightly the wrong size for me, was thinking I'd have to let it go. That is, until I saw TVM, which has a similar colour scheme :-(

  • As I have said on here before, the Jubilees look classier than the TVMs IMHO... but its not all about class! I love and prefer the extra bright colour (Yellow) you get on the TVMs!

Agreed, I prefer the sexiness of the TVM's. Gaudy is always better on a bike. I even like those trashy 80's rainbow bikes ;)

Keep post updated as the bike progresses.

  • I kind of like how the TVM team colour scheme represent the Dutch and Belgian flags of most of its riders. Forks should be orange to complete it really.

  • Orange?

As I understand it when these colours came in they represented all the colours from all the flags of all the riders on the team.

A quick check (surce - wikipedia)... riders from 4 countries in the early 90s -

Belgium - black yellow red on the flag
    Denmark - white red
    UK - red white blue
    Netherlands - red white blue

TVM colours therefore red white blue black yellow

Well yeah, but the team was overwhelmingly Dutch and Belgian, so why not orange instead of the superfluous yellow on the forks ;).
