  • 15 hours of front light?
You are setting off while it is still light and it will be light again by 4 am. You need 7-8 hours of front light.
Rear lights, on leaving London you are in a massive peloton which has high visibility, once in the dark and lonely lanes even a small led is highly visible. Lots of bright blinky rear lights only serves to annoy anyone riding behind you.

Clothes, judge it on the day.

Tubes, 3 punctures would be highly unlucky, 5 would suggest you should have put new tyres on before you left. I take two, I needed to use one 3-4 years ago.

Food, bring lots of tasty snacks, find me, feed me.

The front light batterys is just habit now. I rarely got past the 1st battery pack but would be crap at remembering to charge them so had 3.

I hit a bunch of potholes the other week riding roads I don't normally ride and a couple of them gave me pinch flats. I don't get normal punctures from glass and stuff but seem to be a pinch flat magnet lol
