Why does Pep Guardiola's preferred style get so much grief? It's been very successful and, when done well, has been great to watch but tonight the critics are coming out of the woodwork en masse to pour scorn upon it.
I'd have him at Arsenal in a flash.
Pep played the best football I've ever witnessed. It was as mesmerising as it was demoralising but like I said about BR, pragmatism beats fanaticism all dae long. Also I questioned the wisdom of enforcing a new playing style with the players at his disposal.
Pep took football to a new level. People have learnt to counter it and now we wait for other coaches and pep to evolve or become more flexible in the face of solid defending. Wenger, pep, and Brendan all seem to have problems with flexibility.
I like the way real are playing and saw sense in what Jose did at the weekend. Thankfully for football not all clubs approach matches with 'better' teams in such a manner or we would be back to Italian football circa 1980'sNot sure I'd mention the two teams in the same sentence. Real were stunning tonight and showed real attacking intent. Yes they were happy to let Bayern play in front of them but they went for the jugular when presented with the chances.
Current chelsea are almost spiteful in their approach. I guess it's all a reflection on the personalities of their coaches. Ancelotti really is a classy man (and brought the class the cfc wish they had now).Re flexibility: Is it arrogance/ego? Maureen is the opposite side of the duality with BR, Wenger and pep. IMO Carlo lives somewhere in the middle.

You may as well give me that tenner. It will be won by a South American team in South America. Northern European teams will just not be able to cope with the conditions

I'd like the Belgians to win it but I have to agree with Mike. The day that Brazil get kicked out of the tournament will be a national day of mourning. Uruguay might be a good outside bet. Solid defence, good midfield and Suarez and Cavani up front.
I honestly don't believe that the South American teams will have a huge advantage playing in these conditions.

Germany for me.
Will Bayern's loss last night have any further implications for the national team?
They're suddenly no longer "unbeatable" and what will it do to the mindset of those players.I like Pep and his tactics/vision but sometimes he seems to over think things.
For a team that is considered to be at the peak of their power to lose 4-0 at home is pretty inexcusable and I haven't read the German papers yet but in general they're not one to hold back any criticism. -

I fancy them to bang a few Ladyboys and get hold of some cha cha cha. That's about it
This time it would definitely be Real though, just to keep the Champions League out of Mourinho's reach at Chelsea, and to rub in the shortcomings of his job at Real.
