I'd say B is asking if anyone has one because he wants to try 33t.
Ben, I think the only 33's are made to order (probably wrong! But they aren't that common I think). But what are you on at the moment? 1 tooth difference isn't much with chain rings so if going up from 32, you should probably look more for 34-36.
Tell us your whole ratio, sometimes it makes more sense to change freewheels than chainrings. (Depending on cost of freewheel!)
Sorry for the late reply...
I'm currently running at 32-21 (700c 28) and struggling for top end speed. I've got pretty heavy wheels so I don't want to go too much bigger and compromise acceleration.I'll check what BCD I have tonight (they're just a cheap set of shimano cranks that came with multiple chainrings up front if that helps) I took the bigger one off and have ended up with a 32 that feels a touch spinny. 34t would be welcome for comparison as longs as it's only a couple of beers worth of metal.
Current freewheel is seriously budget and probably won't last till summer, so might go for that if I can't find a quick/cheap chainring.

Pretty sure it's 104 bcd on yours and I still have the 33t chainring in my spare box. Will bring it Wednesday if there's game.

r/c - 32 ---- 33 ---- 34 ---- 35 ---- 36
19 - 44.8 - 46.5 - 47.8 - 49.1 - 50.5
20 - 42.7 - 44.0 - 45.4 - 46.7 - 48.1
21 - 40.6 - 41.9 - 43.2 - 44.6 - 45.6A 33t would hardly be noticeable, almost the same as changing to 32c tyres, a 34 would be an ever so slightly bigger change than dropping a tooth at the freewheel, which isn't loads anyway, I'd look for a 34 or a new freewheel, whichever is cheaper/easier.

That is a bargain!

Definite bargain Jess. I'd of had it if it'd come up six months ago. No room for two polo bikes though. Where you going? Good luck with whatever you're on with.

I'm moving away so I'm selling my polo bike!
It's a size M Hija frame with some nice bits; Thomson stem, seatpost, Paul duplex lever, Surly hub to Mavic rim handbuilt wheels, White Industries freewheel, Avid V-brakes (the frame can take discs too). I'll re-cable it before sale too.
£400?
Pick up from Soho during the day or Borough in the evenings.
Incredibly tempted.
Could I come take a look?Id ideally want to sell my current bike, when do you leave? If you're happy to store it I may be able to pay up asap

Totally worth it and avoids the need to try loads of alternative gearings on your current bike ;)

Very we'll proven, that's only 3% increase... But it may be just enough, and I think I'd need to add a link to my chain to get a 34t on (unless you've got one for sale - a convincing sales pitch)

Snotters right, one tooth on the chainring will be completely unnoticeable... Going down to 20 on the back will actually have an effect and won't require a new chain (although you can get new chains online for less than a fiver and it's worth changing them regularly as new chains won't wear chainrings and cogs as fast as worn one's, so a few £5 chains will double the life of parts that will be twice as much... At least))...
I'd even consider trying 32x19... Depending on tyre and crank length... I'm on 28x18 which is roughly analogous. -

Just measured up and you're right, 104. I'll sling some beers your way.

I recently went from 28/17 to 16, I noticed the extra length of the bike more than the gear change, especially after a week and that's the exact same jump as your 32 to 34. Half of what I changed really wouldn't be worth it, what I changed just about was.

Courts are getting consistently bigger in competition so top end speed is way more important. Go biggggg.

Anyone got any 700 disc brake wheels?
-
• #6520
Yes, but Y U NO 26!!!
-
• #6521
everyone knows 700 is faster, thats why they use them on the tour de france innit.
-
• #6522
26" is lighter,
stronger
allows shorter wheel base
more available with discjust make sure if you do use 26" you don't fill your silly expensive steel frame that doesn't even have a drain hole with water.

• #6523
it only makes a difference when your actually good at polo though...
