yep.. tackling it all myself, sanding and priming went better than i expected, just hoping i don't screw up the colour now! Fork is indeed steel, its a surly which i had to go with due to difficulty finding anything with a long enough steerer tube. Id like to go carbon but finding a 1 inch carbon fork to suit the frame has proved tricky. On the plus side the skinny steel fork does remind me of the fork found on the classic cannondale track which i think suits it fairly good
