Friends,
Your opinions on this Scott Addict for sale in Istanbul, Turkey:Groupset is Dura Ace/Ultegra mix, Mavic KSYRUM wheels. The price advertised in turkish Lira is approximately 1300 pounds.
I have spoken to the seller and he will probably drop the price.
How much for the bike as is?
How much for frame only?
Do people like the bike? A google serach revealed very positive reviews.
What do you think?
Thanks for your advice.

Advice on the value and quality of this Fuji SST 1.1 carbon Frame
It seems expensive but reviews suggest this is a top frame. It says 2000 dollars. Will probably go down on price.
Thanks,

1947 Hobbs of Barbican racer. The one and current owners uncle was a professional racer and acquired the bike for Ray. He believes it is pre 46 however the markings read h471200.
Complete bike bar seat /chain / tyres.
Original 1947 paint. Reynolds hiduminium Alloy bars. Sturmey Archer 3 speed rim but I believe can be turned round for single speed. x2 Bayliss Wiley & co rims. Burlite of Birmingham front & rear brakes. Williams crank arm. Philips pedals, Lytaloy handlebar stem. Lucifer dynamo front & rear lights made in Switzerland. Just found an extra front brake, original seat post but no seat and missing front brake lever.
The frame, forks, crank wheel etc appear to be in perfect condition. There is a missing spoke on one of the four rims but perhaps an overhaul of these may be prudent? There is also a crack to the seat post clamp. I may be able to get this repaired?
Buy it now price?
Cleaned up?
Restored?
Any advice would be great. It is his 84 year old wish that the quality is respected and once again rode through the streets of London town -

Thanks,
Reasonably high end frames them. Good quality. Price seems a little high, assuming its used.

Despite the slating for Aluminium frames above, I'm going to post this anyway. Thinking about selling the winter bike so I can fit another one in the shed...Late 90's Daccordi with mostly Campag Centaur New Century groupset (levers, brakes, mechs and crankset). Seatpost is old Athena aero. Hubs are Veloce on Blue Open Pro rims. Selle Italia San Marco saddle. Integralter bars/stem with cowgirl funny alter girl (I got rid of the air hostess).

while we're at it, wouldn't mind a value on the Merckx as well
Was going to post a pic but Flickr is playing sillybuggers

Brake levers look to be Athena- probably around £17 I'd say
http://velobase.com/ViewComponent.aspx?ID=612E00F5-5BF4-4444-B18B-5B2733F377BF&Enum=118&AbsPos=3
The Brakes look like modern Xenon or veloce or some such business- dunno, about £25, though, from the pictures, one (if not both) of the adjusters looks to be one of the old school monoplaner / early Athena ones so could be worth about £12+ on it's own.
The front mech is possibly an old super record one- probably about £12 (or £45 Buy it now on ebay)

I've got this Shauff Rudi Altig frame, could any of you give me an idea of its value?
Reynolds 531
ST 60 c-c
TT 59 c-c
Italian BBIts has scratches and signs of wear and tear but the paint is a lovely metallic golden orange, it has long campag horizontal dropouts, great 'S' cutout on the bottom bracket shell.
I've not really seen many about so am assuming its reasonably rare?

As an elderly 531 frameset with an ITA BB, I'd pay somewhat less than £100.
Try Retrobike: you might find a fan or some more info.

Most welcome!
It looks decent enough, but being older spec (OLD, position of braze-ons, non-recessed brakes etc) your market is limited.
If you pushed me, I'd say £60-£75.
The ITA BB is interesting though; presumably it's Italian made for a German/Austrian (?) brand: if you could find out who actually made it, that might change things...

Thanks again Scilly, Apologies if this is a stupid question, how would i go about finding this info out? I contacted shauff to find out the original spec, but there does appear to have any frame numbers on it.
It does however have a MAIRAG swiss handmade sticker on it...
http://www.classicrendezvous.com/Switzerland/Mairag.htm i just found this... -

I'm in doubt if I should sell this beauty or just add it to the collection, any idea of a decent price for the frame or for the complete bike? Paganini (Ciocc frame for Belgian export) with a complete Chorus group.

What's reasonable for this Mondia road bike - Winpista bars, Suntour Cyclone groupset, Campagnolo dropouts, Mavic Argent 10 tubs? Owner says it's from the 80s

What could I ask here for a Mavic "semi gruppo"? Knowing that everything's in good condition and the headset, plus the gear levers, are NOS..
Thanks!

What is a Mavic Open Pro CD 36h wheelset laced to Miche high flange hubs worth?
The wheels are never been used with brakes and the Miche hubs still look good and run smooth.Cheers!
Tbf, though, I agree. Alu frames are just generally not as good. You'll find loads at your LBS or online up to about the £1000 mark, but the ride quality on them will be no better than on a £600 steel bike.
