Why didn't you just buy a new chainring? 110pcd, quite standard.
You can't slap a 1/8" ring on double cranks, without some work: they're for 3/32" wide rings.
Either mill the face of the spider arms or rebate the ring, so it sits squarely on the cranks.
Pointless with square taper cranks, but it's been done with Ultra Torque.
