  • Marathon supreme are also great for that kind of thing

  • Agree, definitely don't need knobbly tyres for compressed dirt and gravel. And even if you do use knobbly tyres the effect of tiny knobs on a relativaly small 27c tyre are not likely to make any difference. The main difference will be they make the road riding part of your ride worse.

60% of my riding is on compacted dirt/gravel using 25c tyres with little tread and I fly by people on MTBs (until I get to anything remotely technical)

  • I've been riding my paselas on such surfaces and they do great.

They also roll well on the road.

  • ive gone for the paselas^

mixed reviews but they look nice too..

  • ^Wouldn't want to take that offroad with that spokecount...

the hoods looking really long and the saddle to bar-drop is quite huge for cx. but it looks fast and stealthy! after a couple of crashes i would never ride a carbon frame for cx.

  • Anyone interested in a 58cm Specialized tricross ss?
Its just not for me and I want something fixed for the road

Built for one purpose ... Speed !! Yes I'm flexible for a vet ;)

youve only had it 5 minutes ! Give it time / wait for it to get muddy again . Or at least keep and buy a cheap fixie for the road . They are fucking everywhere so shouldnt be hard .

  • I know, if I could keep it and get something else I would but I've just moved flat and money is really tight and I need something for getting to work quicker. I don't go off road nearly enough to warrant the bike and I'd rather someone get some use out of it. I would only need to throw money at it trying to make it a langster when it isn't.
But to buy a road fixed I need to sell this and use the money. Needs must.

  • Looks similar to my favourite riding place. Swedish forests are so fun.

  • anyone ever fitted a cyclocross knobbie tire in an alpina track fork? mission impossible?

  • Apparently they fit 28C so if you find a particularly skinny cross tyre maybe

think this might work? Schwalbe CX Pro tyre 30c

  • I think it depends more on the height than the width.

  • Yes - the CX Pro tyre is mighty tall - the Alpina Track isn't.

  • thanks guys, then i'll go for something else!

  • Crap. I'll try that again.
