well they dont sell the old one anymore so unless you pick one up second hand you're probably better off with the new one.

Is there any pic with a pompino and trick fork? Probably someone for polo have had a pompino set up like that..

Not sure if this sort of thing is what you're after...

Just to confuse matters I am 182 cm and have a large frame with a setback of 25 mm on the seatpost and a +6 degree 110 mm stem with drops. A lot will depend on your arm and leg dimensions as well. I've forgotten my leg length but my jeans have a 32 in leg.
Ideally you would try one. I didn't have that advantage, not knowing anyone with a Pompino or an On-One bike/frame for that matter, but was lucky with the size.
I assume On-One's return policy wouldn't allow exchange of frames that had been built up.
hmmm well atm i'm riding a road bike set up with risers and a cargo tray. 52cm square frame, 120mm stem, thomson set back post. rides in quite an upright position. before the risers I had 1 110mm stem and drops, felt a lot more bent over, racey etc.
on-one says the small is a 535mm top tube and medium 551.. going from what i've ridden I'd leaning towards the small?
also judging by the top tube angle the pomp is meant to be ridden with a lot of seat post?i'm guessing if i get the small I will be on the larger end but it will be quite fun to ride? hopefully...?

Head tube on an XL Pompetamine is 170mm, that means you typically need a steerer length of >250mm

I know this has been done to death, but I have another sizing question for the pompino v4:
http://www.on-one.co.uk/i/q/FROOPV4/on-one-pompino-v4-frameset .
I'm 5ft10.5. I'm really inclined to go with a medium, which they say is 51cm. Anyone of a similar height having a good time on this?
-

seat tube length isn't important, compare the top tube length to your current bike.
Quite likely you may need either medium or large.

I'm the same height, and my Medium V3 fits me well. I'm sure I bought the right size.
The effective TT is 10mm longer on the new V4 frame, and the HT/ST angles are each a degree slacker.
Here's a side-by-side comparison of Pompino V3 vs V4 geometry, for reference.http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b216/190Evoluzione/On-OneIlPompinoGeoV3vsV4_zpsbb8d3046.jpg

Found on Tumblr. Anyone on here?

If it was would they dare admit it?

The effective TT is 10mm longer on the new V4 frame, and the HT/ST angles are a degree steeper.Actually the reach is more or less identical on both V3 and V4.

How does that work Ed?
-
• #3843
seat tube angle change the reach, the slacker seat tube add at least a centimetre to the length.
V4 have 72.5 degree ST, with 561cm TT.
V3 have 73.5 degree ST, with 551cm TT.
V3 have 1 degree steeper seat tube, with 1cm shorter reach.
However one could argue that it always been the V4 sizes in the predecessor as On-one isn't the brightest when it come to publishing their geometry (like Dolan).

Ahh ok, I see. I have a V3 with an inline but with the saddle pushed back. It already feels very relaxed, I'm not sure I would want the seat any further back.

seat tube angle change the reach
If we consider the definition of reach used by modern people, the one thing which has no effect on it is seat tube angle.

It would be easier if on-one published their stack and reach, alias this was not the case.
While seat tube angle have no effect on the reach, it can confused people in thinking the bike have a longer reach than it actually have.
-
• #3848
According to on one's blurb, v4 has steeper angles than v3. But those charts contradict that. I think the v3 chart was always wrong, it felt/looked way more relaxed than 73 degrees.

He Scobled it good and proper but what he meant was right.
Given a toptube length, slackening the seat tube moves both ends of the top tube back thereby reducing the reach.
In the case of Pomp V3 and V4, the slacker seat tube would add at least 1cm to the top tube length, for a given reach...

Need to sort the chain line on my pomp as it is quite obviously off - and I've lost the chain a couple of times when going over speed bumps. LBS reckons it is because I have a BB for a triple installed at the moment (I have no idea - the second hand frame came with it installed).
Is the best course of action to get a new BB, and if so, is the V3 pomp the same as the new version in requiring a 68mm, English threaded BB?
Thinking about building one for winter commute/ brakeless 'beater' for summer.
Should i buy the old one or v4?
I like shorter top tubes and to my knownledge v4 has better geo for that. Im 183cm'ish
Also going to use cantis
