Amazing how fast this has come together - could well be getting ridden in a couple of weeks.

Bought a few bits from Mario before, he has loads of stuff that isn't listed on the website so perhaps drop him an email if you're after something specific.

A quick fitting of bits just to see the geometry while I was having a tidy up in the workshop - the only bit here that is for the bike is the front wheel - unbelievably tiny compared to a 700c. (the back wheel is a carbon HCS tub with Hugi hub and blade spokes - I have a pair of them to go with my Rossin when it gets back from being painted, the Pista stem and bars are for the Rossin too).

Absolutely - was clearly priority number one. For a gibbon.

A box has just arrived and been opened - this is some of the contents. I photographed the crank arms upside down to show it is genuine Pista and not a convert, track hub with Zeus lockring and gear, 49, 50 and 52 tooth chain rings, Zeus seat pin also in the box a 175mm Zeus double crankset, Zeus bottle cage, set of brand new Zeus pista chain ring bolts .......... I have not bought Zeus stuff before but I'm thinking this may have been a bargain - all this was 250 Euros with post. Think I may fall asleep smiling tonight.

Soon be ready to start the build as Cinelli Tempos arrived today and seat, chain, stem and bar tape should be here tomorrow from Mario.

I think I'll just be left looking for pedals after that.

PS Big H on your ref I sent him an email with my want list - he came up with most of it except the really obscure; he has no Magura HS77 Hydraulic rim brake spares. Good job mine work and I'm just looking for cosmetic upgrades. Nice guy, fast responses and fair prices.

Ah man I need a pair of those Zeus 2000 titanium fluted cranks. You def got a good price. Those chainrings and seatpost will polish up real nice too.

Saw a comment on Sheldon that Zeus was a cheap imitation of Campy. Looking at what I've got that seems a bit harsh.

Wouldn't a bullhorn bar be more appropriate for this build? Seems to me you won't be spending to much time in the drops.

You are correct. I just put those bars on it for a look at the geometr. I have now got some NOS Cinelli Tempo bull horns for it.

I was at Fitzrovia Bikes today and they have the most gorgeous purple lacquer over chrome Zeus frame. It is so small it's almost child size. Anywhere from 56 up and I would not have been able to resist it. Lots of other loveliness in there too

Seen that frame in the display window? I thought it was anodised blue/purple kind of like the vintage vitus or Wilier frames. Very nice it is.
