given the plethora of poor decor frames available in italy from the mid to late 80's, i'd say the industry as a whole suffered what some would consider a style/taste crisis, rather than only colnago

  • Thanks for all your help on this guys. Price it's being offered at is AU$600 so $320 in your money (incl BB and stem). I'm a bit ambivalent but beats the +AU$1000 for even the crappiest master olympic Ive been on the hunt for....

  • antonio columbo, as boss of cinelli around the same era also implemented more outlandsish decor, maybe both art depts ate the wrong kind of hamburgers

This was the only non USA/Canada, or UK mtb I lusted after back in 89/90ish.

  • most if not all early cinelli mtb's were gary fisher collaborations

  • While on the subject of 1980s paint jobs, here's my recently purchased Super Pista. It is most likely from early to mid 1970s but appears to be refinished in the 1980s. Apparently this used to be Italian pro track & road racer Adriano Baffi's bike, donated by him as a complete bike to some benefit auction in Italy from which it was bought by the previous owner.

  • nice find

  • Very handsome.

  • crabon shot

the c50 gruppo will go on the c40, and I've got to sort a headset and do replace a tt cable guide on the mono carbitubo

  • The cable guides on carbon colnagos snap sooooo easily :(

  • i've been blessed so far, had one repaired on a 1st generation c40 i sold a while ago, the one on the mono is actually an alan guide, as frame was made by alan, so i had an alan record with a split headtube lug, and took one off
the issue is now getting the torn one off the mono, so far the holding screw is stuck, so taking time as i don't want to compromise the screw busing in the carbon tube

  • i have trouble tightening the seatpost clamp bolt on my tecnos. seatpost keeps sliding in while riding. it is 27,2. is 14nM too much tourque on the collar ?

  • 14 Nm is way too much. I wouldn't want to go higher than about 7 Nm on a seatpost clamp bolt.

  • i had 7nM in the beginning but the post slipped right in.

  • Are you sure you don't have a 27.0 post?

  • i have a thomson elite 27,2. i can hear the groves while sliding it in, no side movemet noticeable. same seatpost was in my basso frame with no problem.

  • Hm, that's not good. :-/

  • 1983 Colnago Mexico - Bought her yesterday, anyone care to guess how much?

  • thanks, im new to website. Bike is surely worth more, them Deltas are badass (& clean)

  • are you asking for an appraisal ?

  • I just bought my first Colnago, yes, obviously I want appraisal. ''Am I asking for and Appraisal'' who the hell wants to conversate to that?

  • 1983 Colnago Mexico - Bought her yesterday, anyone care to guess how much?

well done you on buying your "first colnago"!
i intrepreted the above quoted comment as meaning guess how much you paid for it, not what a market value of it would be, to reach that conclusion, i'd need a question like 'how much is this worth' or something as i'm a simple soul
