Thanks Tester and umop3pisdn got the bloody thing out after cupping the other side of the hub and wacking it politely with the rubber end of some pliers. Was being a bit too careful!
I now have another problem, how to go about creating/modifying the axle so it can be used with the Spnk 'Fixxer'. The Spengle people had to be difficult and use some different bearings and hub system that I have never serviced. The fluidisk was very straight forward and I used the existing NDS bearings/cone etc. only having to thread the dust cap cone for the drive side. Will take some better photos soonCorima can fluidisk?

Finished the MTB 'on the cheap but still quite nice' this weekend. £470 total with a few new bits like brakes/BB/headset etc. Could have been less without the overspend on the front wheel which I had in mind for for another project that never happened. Pretty pleased, fit is half decent, I had to put all the spacers on the NDS for a chainline that wasn't really noisy on the lowest gears. Will have to keep an eye on that.

Nice but looks way too small... This might be a better fit... (;

Doesn't look like you need a longer stem, not with that lever angle
Just don't, alright?

See, I would call that a cauldron.

Also, bar/shifter angle suggests you need shorter/higher stem, not longer/steeper....
Bollocks.

need chorus brakes and tape color for my NOS frame
by my calculations, you currently have approx. eleventy billion dollars worth of bike porn in your collection...I would be jelli if you were not graciously sharing with us

^nothing different then yellow tape would make it not a gaston (tm) bicyclette.
you had already decided when choosing rd outer cable though

those welds... nnnnnnnggggggggghhhhhhhnnnnn..

Saddle and seatpost suggest this also.
Rules of thumb, get the saddle position sorted before the cockpit, not after.
Will bet you Scherrit will do this.

naughty spammer !
Reported for spam :-)
It certainly looks like it was designed for a shorter fork
hmm am interested in this build
have similar at home right now and am building up
what forks are they out of interest
they say the team tig sl can run 100mm and 120mm under warranty but the 120mm does look like it makes the front end a bit highi have mounted 120mm but have purchased some 100mm so i can try both out and see how it feels
heres mine currently
not sure whether to so 1x9 / 10
or 3 x 9 / 10 -

Look like 100mm to me, and look fine. Bike's on a slope so BB and headtube look higher than they actually are. What tyre is on the front?
-
• #92016
ah yes there is quite a slope isn't there
more pics on the flat please !
ahhh .....
but the fork looks like a 0mm in this photo
still no real geo -
