• Hey there,

Had a bit of a nightmare this morning, a yappy dog meant I left my keys in my front door and some cheeky bastard made off with them.

I changed my house lock already, however on that keyring were the only keys to my bike (well done me), which is in currently my office parking. My bike is attached with two locks, one through the other to create a longer lock. Luckily one of the locks is rubbish: a knog cable thing.

So as a first step, and to get my bike out of the office, I need some bolt cutters that could go through this KNOG "Kabana" Bike Lock Review - YouTube
(doesn't seem to hard) Who can help please? (donation to forum will be made, or a 6 pack of beer, or both)

My work is in waterloo, I live in chiswick. Willing to go anywhere to pick up or for me to take you into my office, so you don't have to worry about it being used for bad things.

Hopefully the Abus granit mini futura is not attached to the frame, rather it is the knog, with the futura to the rack. This would make life easy. If not, would someone have an angle grinder? I can cycle to your area, as the abus will be attached to the frame, but nothing else. Anyway, I will update on the situation tomorrow.

I have my receipts from Condor, etc...

    Thanks in advance.
    Emil

  • Happy to chop through your Abus.
Whilst you're here you can buy my 27" wheels.

  • haha, I should have replied, sorry, but had some distractions! Was going to see what the wheels are like on my gfs new bike and make a call if thats ok? Are you a man with an angle grinder or bolt cutter, or both? Will PM

  • You'll no need bolt cutters to get through that Knog lock.

  • so what do I need sir?

  • Cable cutter, side cutters. Nail clippers and elbow grease would probably even do.

  • Staring at it intensely for five minutes should do the job.

Garden sheers would be quicker though

  • Why not just ask about in work?

Just about anything will do it, someone into diy will have a dremel or something for sure.

  • Yes, ok, I overestimated the power of that lock. 10 seconds with a hacksaw. It is made of rubber on the outside with a few strands of steel around a rubber core in the centre, a rubber core! What a joke...

  • The abus mini granit will be a tougher proposition, the hacksaw did not like that..

  • Spare keys, somewhere?

  • A Dremel would be worth a go, assuming you have a ready supply of cut-off discs.
