On the DP18 and Mach1 its machined, so silver. On 40 mm and carbon its the same colour..
I would recommend the machined surface over painted.

Hi,

Is anyone aware of the consequences of using a front brake with the vsprint non-machined rim? Will the integrity of the rim be compromised, or is it just a bit stupid?

It will squeal really badly until you wear through the paint, nothing to worry about structurally though.

Spot... The 40mms have a raised surface whuch is painted. its an old debate and lots have used them but my preferance is always for machined.

Buy the machined. Took forever to get through the paint and I had to tidy it up with glass paper anyway.

So whats the story, unmachined are not intended to be used w brakes?
