Repost from HHSMTB if anywhere!
Trek's model numbering system bewilders me, to this day. Has anybody decoded it? -

In the Y series, the higher the number the better... Y33 was triple badass.

Mr B, I dare you; no I double dare you, to find a picture of any of those Bontrager builds with a teeny tiny speck of dust on them in a non-photogenic (with added graffiti or tins for 'really I ride it' points) setting.

Weather envy, it's hilarious. There's rarely mud in SoCal. When I lived there, I washed my bikes once every 6 weeks or so. Riding them just gets the drivetrain dirty, which any of us can have looking new again in about 15 minutes.
I know this forum loves to speculate as to whether Prolly-type LA builds (of any kind) ever get ridden; The answer is yes. A shitload. The weather, the hills, the roads and trails are too good not to. -

^^^ funny thing about non-photogenic settings; photos set in them are rubbish
Anyway no-one builds a beautiful period correct retro mtb and then straps on brand new spds and a load of crap under the seat unless they're riding it.

Seems excessive. My MTB cleaning schedule involves kicking off any excessive mud after it has dried.

If you wait that long out here you get concrete.

Great to see it being used, but kinda what I was getting at, the art direction mind tricks.

Frame is nice. Rider must be a midget though because even at that size its too big. Y u no 650b? Everything else is either Meh or just set up wrong.

height-ist :P
650b is a valid point only if more road 650b tyres were widely available

650C is the road racing size, but there is a very limited selection of wheels and tyres, and you can't borrow a wheel from your normal sized friends.

True, true. I'd go bike fit > convenience personally, though.

Are you sure the contact points are in the wrong place? I haven't seen and interviewd the rider, so you have the advantage of me.

Actually edited the post to include something along the lines of maybe the contact points are in the right place and the rider just loves toe overlap but who knows etc but couldn't be bothered to hit the submit button. Porn thread etc, it looks derpy.
Nah, you wouldn't. Shiny bikes in bike shops gather much more attention than used/dusty ones.
