Got a lil piece of tyre that won't fit inside the rim, any solutions?
-
• #430
Haha, give the valve a little push ;)
edit, first get the pressure out of the tyre, then give the valve a little push.
-
• #431
Push the valve up and it'll sit in (if i see what i think)
I hope the tub is already inflated a little bit -

- Also followed Indra and george's advice and put a 23c innertube inside the 28c tyre. Worked perfectly, did require some pumping up to get it to the right psi but everything is fine. Cheers guys! Also feels faster with a fatter tyre at the back. Is there a like some science relating to the size of the tyre and speed/rolling resistance.

there's science relating to a new tyre feeling better than an old fucked tyre but it's pretty obvious
-
• #434
Well a larger tyre will up you GI very slightly and on rougher road surfaces a 28c can be faster than a 23.

Tyre now fitted properly, cheers Jan and Breso!
Copped a 40mm deep front wheel from Shinkuu this morning for cheeaaapppppp. Getting closer to owning every component on the bike. Maybe I won't have to sell the frame anymore. ;)

Will be sad in June when I'll have to let f+f go. :(
-
• #438
KEEP IT!
A good alu frame (that's not mad generic), that's drilled and fits you will be hard to come by again.
I suppose you're gonna sell it to fund another frame right? Just save a little more money and you'll have two bikes. -
• #439
Why would you sell it..?
-
• #440
To gather funds for a complete build with all the components being mine.
Atm the only things on the bike that aren't mine are:
- The pedals, straps and cages.
- The Rear wheel
- Front brake set
Estimate for all that would be around .. 60 ish.. And tbh until I start working - I won't be able to save that much.
- The pedals, straps and cages.

bueeeeeeno
Don't sell this, I have tons of spare parts lying around that you can have cheap/free/use.
Including a front brake, rear wheel and possibly pedals.

So you're thinking that if you sell the f+f you can afford a full build? I think it's easier to gather the 60 pounds than to gather new funds for a full build.. Also you would have some time without a bicycle and there is a big change the new build won't be such a nice ride as this is to you..
-
• #443
If I were you, I'd keep it. I've had a few frames and my fort was easily one of the best to ride.
-
• #444
^^ - Yeah man if you've got spare bits, I wouldn't mind. Beggars can't be choosers afterall.
^ - I'm not saying definitely that I am going to sell it but if I think it's the right thing to do at the time then I probably would.
If I'm lucky enough to find a job in June/Early July then I will most definitely keep it for the remainder of the year. TM - Why did you sell your fort?
-
• #445
It was massive, like 62cm top tube when I need a 57/58. Loved riding it but was just too long.
-
• #446
Really? I thought you were around 6'2 ish.
-
• #447
He is but a 62cm TT Lopro... REACH.
My orłowski is only like a 57.
-
• #448
Indra, do you possibly have a shorter stem to swap with? (shorter than 120mm anyway)
-
• #449
In 25.4 clamp? I'm not sure, will have a look around.
-
• #450
yes please. lemme know innit.
That tube will be fine, 28c is higher volume so it will take a bit longer to pump up anyway, you don't need as much pressure.
