Might be able to go in and check at some point today, will let you know if I do. Any size I should look for? 130?
-
• #1503
That's the material. No mention of diameter or thickness. It could be as light at 631.
It's oversized, tigged and compact. Probably about 1800g?
I'd guess that, puts it in around the same range as a pre cursa.

I recall them weighting the smallest first generation Dart, and that came out a little over 2kg, which is spot on for the type of frame and material, decent steel frame is 1800g, lightweight one can be as low as 1600g before you start spending silly money.
One more thing about the Dart V2 is that I feel it fit a lots better for the average cyclists than the Dolan with the longer head tube, and a slightly more sensible geometry.
The only disadvantage is that it's £70 more than the Dolan, without fork, headset and seatpost.

New dart is apparently 2.2kg for a 55cm. Frankly, If anyone is looking at that price range, they shouldn't be expecting magic really.
If I was to replace current daily frame. It would be the V2. Durability beats weight saving.
Annoying geometry though. Not sure how much more usable it is compared to a Dolan. -

i've only seen the pearl 12s in silver. a pearl 11 would do

For the bridge?

Yeah, really short. For commuters wearing backpacks?
The Dolan sizing is weird to, with a gap, then nothing for tall riders.
There still isn't really anything out there except a Langster* if you want a modern fixed frame suitable for the road..... so ratty ex keirin frames with bodged brakes and cage still rule. At least they're fun, tough and look ace :)
*don't laugh.

There's the genesis flyer, all city big block and also the on one machinate and I'm sure there must be more.
-
• #1510
swift, bareknuckle, vig, capo, orlowski - just of the top of my head, plenty out there
-
• #1511
Oh and my favourite, the Schwin madison all have bottle bosses and brake drillings.

I reckon the new Genesis Flyer topped the Langster by borrowing the geometry from the Equilibrium.
Tokyo Fixed Dream Machine also a worthy choice.

The genesis is traditonal geo. The Bob Jackson Vigorelli rides much better. The big block is a big unit and a bit overbuilt for me. The Machinato has all sorts of cableruns I don't need but might be alright with a carbon fork I guess.

Swift is nice but traditonal geo, Bareknuckle is really nice but traditional geo and pricey. Vig is trad geo and most of these don't have a bottle mount.

The dream machine is heavy and (incredibly) lacks bottle bosses.

And the Schwin Madison?
-
• #1515
Trad geo.
That may sound like a silly thing to get hung up on but I run a lot of seatpost and you get a smoother, stiffer bike that climbs better. I'm a fan of compact geo.

• #1516
And 27.2 seatposts plz. :)
-
• #1517
Sound like the new Cannondale Synapse will excited you down to the core with their BMX seatpost.

Sagan's is 25.4mm (or something) for the cobbles so I simply must have this!
Seriously though. We all know it works but there is a gap in the market because people aren't over tarck yet.

not a hard fix

The vigorelli is coke-can thin there. Maybe the Mash is thicker, is that holding up ok?

*don't laugh.Yup, exactly as that. All feels great till something is on your back. Somehow, I never suffered with the Langster. I actually miss that poo brown beast.

Would be nice, but none fall within that 'average' price bracket. That said, the swift is very very tempting as an all rounder.

the TF is £400 with a set of alpinas? You could pretty easily pick one of those up for that
-
• #1523
£400 will buy some tasty NJS, headset and bb included.

What Miro said. I yammer on about the TF because all I'll be doing is transferring parts, which will keep it cheap. At £400+. I'll start to look at something a little exotic.
I'm a cheap bastard.

mine was cheaper
Dolan Precursa is 1800g frame only, no one made a fuss about it, it's still an excellent (if crackly) frame.
Get off your high tensile horse.
