our touch rugby social starts again this evening in Regents Park..
PM me if you want details.. Some FAQs
What is it?
A weekly get together on Tuesdays in the park (weather permitting) with friends, btw we started this in 2003 and since then hosted one day tournaments across the home counties.
What does it cost?
Its free to join, each week we play til sundown, then Edinburgh Castle pub afterwards. If we enter a team in the summer sevens competition, we’ll need to consider kit, food, slush fund costs.
I've never played before is it complicated?
Rules are simple, best explained in the park
My fitness level is low, will I struggle?
That’s what winter is for to rest and recuperate right, see it as an opportunity
I can’t commit every Tuesday is that a problem?
No problem, if you are new to the sport, it is worth attending regularly just to get used to playing in a team
Physical impact, will it hurt?
There are no crunching tackles.. this is a non-contact, running/passing game. Tempo increases throughout the season as games get longer.
Can Girls play?
Yes, in fact competition rules ask for one girl per team minimum during matches, girls also get two points for scoring tries. This rule is intended to make the game more inclusive and less aggressive.
Can I bring friends/housemates?
It’s an open invitation, studded boots are advised as we play on grass.
