That's the one, thanks! I can't afford a v-twin (and if I could I'd just buy hylex)

no worries.
I have been toying with the idea of using hydraulic mastercylinders with the blades switched to road lever blades and hood bodies attached on top somehow. could be possible with certain master cylinder designs like magura, tektro, formula etc.

• I was under the impression they were somewhat customised.

• Thanks. haven't seen those. almost exactly what I had in mind. should work, if I ever get around to try it.

• A few tweeks to my Peugeot over the weekend.

• You might want to have a word with Px customer services. They did the same to me.

Decided to order two front hubs to make two complete hubsets and recieved 2 more rears for a total of four rear hubs.

customer service told me that the warehouse had mis labelled the hubs and they only have silver rear hubs in stock now. Sent the whole lot back.

The customer service was really nice actually, no questions how or why, they decided to send one more front hub and a set of spokes free of charge...

• i would lacquer them once shiny but dont go to armoutex for a raw finish as whatever they do to the frame turns it dull grey.

Yeah have seen that, so far bits of the frame are staying shiney and I like it that way. Have had bits of shiney metal powder coated with just clear coat and the parts came out shiney. Was thinking just clear laquer after a wipe down with thinners. Have some plasticote clear lacquer so was thinking of doing one frame in that.

There is a couple of places I use in coventyr and one swanley who are cheaper than armourtex but not as quick a turn around.

That would be the phosphate passivation, I think it's a throwback to their industrial roots. It adds to the corrosion protection and provides a good key for the powder coat, but it isn't pretty.

• ^ I told them I wanted the finish to look like a raw brompton. It doesnt at all because they used phosphate. It looks terrible and I will probably have to get it redone as there is already rust showing after less than 6 months! the rust is worse than on my raw on-one frame that has no phosphate is around 5 years+ old and only has a few spiders of rust.

• i used rattlecan acrylic clearcoat from halfords
seems to work straight onto bare metal.
some people on here have used linseed oil too

• Not very lfgss but this was an absolute bargain, gonna whack drops on, put on a front rack then cycle to Tajikistan

• Too much? Ok i'm gonna ride to central

• I was under the impression they were somewhat customised.

The clamps would need changing from 22.2 to 23.8

Thorn actually make inverse shims for this.

• Bars: Ones which are comfortable in your hands
Stem: One which puts the grip section of the bars where your hands are.

• I've got a Sram Apex chainset with 130mm bcd spider, is it worth keeping this and buying (a) new chainring(s) to use with panniers and bigger tyres, or should I swap it out for a compact chainset?

If the former, which chainring sizes are possible/advisable?

• Apex is cheap, chainrings are expensive. Assuming it's 53/39, you can only go one tooth smaller on the little ring anyway.

Nooiicee! Is that the 58cm from NJ-sexport?

• Nooiicee! Is that the 58cm from NJ-sexport?

Correct Sir! Its the 58.5 ST version, opted for this over the 59 ST version as this has the newer larger "Samson" graphics to the seat tube which I think look nicer. This is also a very light orange which looks cool more pics if interested:

And that detailing on the BB, jeeezabus amazing.

*Build List so far:*

Plan is to build this as a road fixed with drops.

Dura Ace 7710 Cranks + Black 52 Zen
MKS Neuvo straps and clips
Alien Carbon Seatpost
Laser suede saddle
Thomson Elite 100mm X 26.0
Sram Force caliper
CK 1inch Thread Less
Black 32h Paul hubs

I'm going to swap out the Samson forks for some 1 inch Mizuno straight blade carbon ones which are currently on their way from Italy. This will allow me to run a front brake on the road (don't like the look of the clamp on brakes) and will also allow me a thread less setup.

Bidding on some Record single speed levers now so fingers crossed I'll have these soon aswell.

Basically there....

Contacted Kinoko today to confirm build of Paul hubs to Grey TB14's - will get these built up next month.

What is a good ratio o run with a 52t ring up front?

For anyone even entertaining the idea of buying from NJS Export. JUST DO IT - great communication, paid bugger all customs, items arrived within a week and in better condition than thought!

• Oh! Cheers Dry, had a mare there, broken Flickr for a moment.

• 'mazin frame. Paul hubs would be a shame IMHO. Looks made for HB-7600s.

• 7710 to match the chainset
