I have friends in north London who IIRC said the surface is pretty crap.

Welwyn has a bit of a reputation for puncturing expensive tubs, but to be fair this only affects elite riders with expensive kit. For the most part there is no problem if you use clinchers or whatever the name is for them, they weren't around in my day (sad old git, I know) As a Derny driver I wear two pairs of shorts cos its a bit lumpy but I don't think that it has the same effect on you riders. What I would say though is that everyone should try going to different tracks now and again, just to be able to make comparisons - you will be surprised at the differences. Herne Hill is great, but its not the centre of track riding, anymore than Manchester is the centre of the universe.

Skully, nice to meet you this morning. Your bike is shiny.
Anyone know why those 'dead cats' were at the track today?
-

Hey, yeah Polkadot you too, sorry you had to ride with the slow people.
I really need to start coming down Wednesday afternoons for the senior citizens sessions ...

Massive rep to PQR for lending me his rear wheel during inters today after I was floundering on a horribly undergeared hire bike! It was a life saver, I wouldn't have been able to do the session without it.
That's the last time I let my track bike get locked in the office over the weekend...

^I wondered why you were on that.
^^It was worth it. ;-)So, no one knows anything about the sound recordings being taken this morning?

Can someone tell me what time herne hill. Is open til please?
-
• #3462
I think it usually shuts soon after the last session of the day, which varies from day to day.

70 people on the track today and even saw a few people turned away for not having their accreditation card. I was hanging off the back but at least I completed the whole session this week.

I hear the sound recording was for incidental noise for movie about Armstrong!
-
• #3465
70 people?! Jesus. Glad I didn't come now
-

I think it was more like 50, it was alright actually. Quite windy and lots of quick people so the pace was high and tiring.

No problem - all part of the LFGSS mafia offering.
Inters did look a bit busy though. I hopped onto the track skills as still not got round to getting the accreditation and it was a real mix of speeds and abilities. I need to get the test sorted so I can come back to Monday nights.
I had a real problem with my left crank loosening up - had to over tighten it to hold it on so hope it isn't f&cked

Haven't been down to the track as the track bike was in bits, I was overcoming injury and I hadn't done my accreditation.
Track bike is back together and accreditation is booked in for Easter Sunday, so fingers crossed should be back at the saturday sessions, shortly thereafter.. -

Good training today, much smaller group than usual so we got some sprints in. The headwind made it all quite tiring but it felt fairly quick too.
no good?
