  • An excellent article on the closest Paris-Roubaix of them all, in 1990.

  • Andy repped for today's haul of links :)

  • Good to see Wout Poels winning today. He had a rough time the past couple of seasons after his massive crash at the 2012 Tour.

Very entertaining finish. Proper tit for tat stuff.

  • Sir Dave has quit

  • ^ You beat me to it. He's quit BC to focus on Sky

One of my rare forays onto BBC Sport website found this just now:

  • The current weather forecast suggests it will be dry. I think OPQS' strength in depth will count for more this weekend. Cancellara the favourite, closely followed by Vanmarcke and Boonen (I hope).

  • Phinney is going to solo it with 40k to go after massive crash takes out all the favourites. On the podium he will thank his parents and his hair.

  • Go Ben Swift!

  • Contador 7 seconds off Tony Martin's time in Basque's final stage, takes overall

  • DO NOT WANT

  • That's why I only own black shorts.

  • Bert's remembered how to TT? Ominous.

  • To be fair, the course was virtually designed for him.

Valverde sucked today, what a shame.

  • Thankfully, the days of daft bikes at Paris-Roubaix are long gone. Below is the link to the nadir in my opinion, I won't post the picture here as I fear there would be an outcry.

  • Ha.

I read Tom Boonen's bike spec for PR today. He's almost the same height and weight as me. Same BB to saddle and saddle to bars measurements. Shame he's so good and I'm shit.

  • ^^tight clearances

  • Anyone know if it's being shown in a pub in Crystal Palace - I thought they might in the Alma.

And if not in CP, then pub in town? - ideally serving good Belgian beer...

    Thanks

  • Ballsed up and started a thread elsewhere the gist of it being anyone know if one of the pubs in Crystal Palace is showing PR tomorrow - failing that a good Belgian beer-serving place where they might show it in town?

    Merci

  • Being shown In cadence.. no beer
Good chance it will shown at the Gipsy Hill Tavern

  • pretorious cycles, look mum no hands (I think) and rapha cafe are 3 I know of

as for crystal palace, maybe take a tinnie into Cadence Cycles :P ?

  • Great, much obliged.

  • Apparently Cadence have a beer licence for tomorrow.

  • ^then cadence will be best bet for CP.

For the more central south Londoners, Cycle PS on camberwell is showing it. They do beer, coffee and pizza.

  • DO NOT WANT
